Une conception inclusive d’environnements d’apprentissage en ligne : modèles et ressources
An inclusive conception of online learning environments: Models and resources
Abstract
Globalization and advances in ICT have accelerated the diversification of the demographic of our student body. This cultural diversity benefits learning greatly but challenges institutions and faculties who feel untrained and unprepared to provide quality learning experiences for multicultural audiences as well as to assess which appropriate technology is the best choice. More attention is being paid to the role and impact of culture in learning. In this article we will present the results of an extensive literature review related to cross-cultural and multicultural issues in online education. We will then describe an online learning module that addresses the question of integrating and managing the cultural dimension in online education. The development of this module was funded by the Agence universitaire de la Francophone.
