Mutation d’un cours de biostatistiques : évaluation d’un dispositif d’autoformation sur le Web
Mutation of a biostatistics course: Assessment of an online self-learning system
Abstract
Biostatistics is a hybrid discipline at the intersection of mathematics and biology. Compared with other scientific disciplines, such courses are relatively new and should be further adjusted to better fit the target audience, which is not highly familiar with mathematical formulation and is very skeptical about its usefulness. Our courses explored multimedia possibilities in order to make the concepts more accessible and the students more independent. We describe here the environment in which selflearning can be maximized. The teaching contract was also redefined in response to changes in the division of responsibilities between teachers and learners induced by this tool.
