Abstract

What can we learn about distance learning from management science? This article answers this question through the review of the literature with lessons learned from organization theory. We propose various avenues of research to better understand ins and outs of technologies dedicated to learning. The objective is to understand, first, the reasons leading organizations to legitimize this practice and to mobilize stakeholders to ensure its development, and secondly, the ways in which recursion between uses and socio-material properties of the technologies used in this context.
