Distance Education and Inequalities in Mexico: the Challenges of Ensuring the Continuity of Education for all
Abstract
In this paper referring to the current situation of higher education system, in Mexico, with regard to COVID-19 pandemic, during 2020, we analyze opinions of teachers on their professional practices during the lockdown period, mainly with respect to the boom of distance higher education programs. The purpose of the online questionnaire was the documentation of 286 researchers and teachers’ aspirations, capacities and ambitions, and their limits in the framework of segmented higher education system. Results concern mainly practical training needs in relation to distance higher education and its effects on a relational profession and its values.
