Abstract

This paper reports on an empirical study examining the impact of educational technologies on student well-being, highlighting both the benefits and the drawbacks. Employing a qualitative approach, the study consisted of semi-structured interviews with a sample of 16 students studying educational sciences and resulted in several significant findings. On the one hand, online educational tools offer students a greater sense of autonomy, efficiency, competence and belonging to a learning community. However, their excessive use can lead to adverse effects such as information overload, intense fatigue, and anxiety. Furthermore, the presence of smartphones in the classroom is likely to disrupt student focus and weaken the pedagogical relationship.
